CWDO Website Redesign

CWDO has undertaken a major website redesign this year.   The goal is to create a website that is more dynamic, more interractive, more useful & usable for our members and more accessible.

The project has been broken down into 2 phases.

Phase 1: Move the existing site to Drupal

The current site is managed by 1 volunteer and hardcoded static pages.   This means it is a lot of work to maintain and that the work is being done all by 1 person.   The 1st phase of the project involves moving the existing content into drupal.  Creating the site's look into a Drupal theme, cleaning up the code and moving over the content.  This will allow multiple people to manage the site, subject matter experts to post and promote information of interest to members and changes to be done faster, simpler and more consistently.

Phase 2: Site Improvements

Once the material has been moved over to drupal; the 2nd phase of this project is to provide additional functionality (such as forums, linking to social media and improvements to the out of box accessibility of drupal)..   Providing new areas and additional capabilities to members.

Phase 1 of the website redesign is complete.  CWDO is currently exploring volunteer availability and funding options in order to undertake Phase 2.  We are also looking for volunteers for site management, content creation and editing.  If you have free time and an interest in helping out, we would gladly take your offer of help.

We are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the accessibility of this site, please use our Contact Form,  as we are continually striving to improve the experience for all of our visitors.  This site is entirely created by volunteers and we are always looking for more hands and help with the site’s management.   If you have any Drupal expertise or identify any issues that are problematic, please contact us using the CWDO Contact Form..
